Sea NG Ships

Sea NG has developed a range of Coselle CNG ships to suit our customer’s project requirements. The approved designs and building plans for these vessels were developed by Sea NG working with naval architects, ABS, Teekay Corporation and various shipyards. The key design features of the Sea NG ships that ensure safe, clean and reliable CNG shipping include:

Simple efficient hull form

The hull form uses single curvature plates and chines to simplify construction and thereby reduce cost and construction time. The design has been model tested to insure efficiency.

Environmentally friendly

Coselle CNG ships are equipped with dual fuel engines and normally burn natural gas from their own cargo. Natural gas costs less and has lower emissions levels than liquid fuels thus these ships will be amongst the cleanest in the world.

Reliability

The ships are equipped with twin propulsion systems to enhance reliability and bow thrusters to offer optimal maneuverability.

Safety

Simple Manifold System

Extensive safety studies have been completed, supervised by the classification societies Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). These include: HAZIDs, HAZOPs, over pressurization of the cargo hold, impingement of gas cooled by J-T effect, rapid dispersion of gas, jet fires, radiant heat effects, and crew escape and evacuation. The results of all of this work have been incorporated into the design and operational plans of the ships.

Approval for Construction

The 50MMscf ship has full approval for construction from the American Bureau of Shipping. All other Sea NG ship designs have been reviewed for approval.
