PetroSA Calls in the CNG Specialists
South Africa’s state oil company PetroSA has appointing the Centre for Marine CNG in St John’s, Newfoundland, as technical advisor under a one-year deal.
PetroSA is planning to ship CNG from Mozambique to the company’s gas-to-liquids plant in Mossel Bay, South Africa.
Oil company officials said the owner of the gas is committed to supplying around 100 million cubic feet per day. This could be ramped up to 200 MMcf per day in time.
However, the initial volumes will not be available until the first quarter of 2013.
The CNG centre’s operations manager Craig Young will head up the PetroSA contract.
