Natural Gas Producers

Gas producers worldwide are increasingly considering marine CNG as a gas transportation option.

The key drivers of this shift are marine CNG’s potential to create new regional markets and to reduce or even eliminate waste in the production and transportation of natural gas resources.

By employing Sea NG’s Coselle™ Systems, producers with smaller volumes of gas -- whether associated gas or gas from fields with smaller reserves -- can earn net-backs they might not otherwise receive. Employing a Coselle™ System enables them to economically access markets.

In addition to its economic advantages:

  • The simplicity and flexibility of the Coselle™ System allows it to be used as a floating gathering system.
  • Coselle™ Systems are a viable solution for dealing with offshore flared gas - whether employed to avoid flaring during extended periods of well testing or throughout the production life of oil reserves.

Gas reserves that remain undeveloped for physical or economic reasons have typically been labeled as “stranded” or “marginal”. Real opportunities for deployment of Sea NG’s Coselle™ Systems exist in smaller offshore fields where natural gas is underdeveloped or flared because the physical setting makes pipelines or LNG impracticable, or the cost of shipping the gas by pipeline or LNG make it uneconomic to commercialize.

Many of these undeveloped assets can become commercially viable projects with marine CNG.  Sea NG’s Coselle™ Systems are re-deployable and easily scalable.  Reserves that were once considered uneconomic can be developed and marketed.  This is particularly the case where customers use Coselle™ Systems to link undeveloped or underdeveloped gas reserves with higher value markets within the region of production.

Natural gas produced in association with offshore oil production is often flared or re-injected. Sea NG’s Coselle™ System can provide a low cost means of transporting natural gas directly from an offshore platform or floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) to nearby gas customers, thereby eliminating the costs of reinjection and flaring and capturing the value of the natural gas.

Key features:

  • Low cost means of collecting and monetizing associated gas
  • Potential elimination of flared gas
  • Employ industry standard loading equipment
  • Scalable fleet can adapt to reserve profile
  • Re-deployable ships and facilities can be relocated to new fields as needed
  • Provide access to isolated or deep water locations

Natural gas that would otherwise be flared during extended well testing or early production can be captured and transported to markets using Sea NG’s Coselle™ System.

Key features:

  • Low cost means of collecting gas during well testing or early production
  • Potential elimination of flared gas
  • Employ industry standard loading equipment
  • Scalable fleet can adapt to reserve profile
  • Re-deployable ships and facilities can be relocated to new fields as needed

As environmental regulators worldwide place tougher restrictions and penalties on the flaring of gas, Sea NG can provide gathering and transportation services to ship gas that would otherwise have been flared during the testing phase of reservoir development.
